Stretching, Strengthening and Massage
The focus is on feet and lower body only. Massaging the effected areas will help identify areas of tightness and imbalance, increase range of motion, work out restrictions in muscle tissues of the leg, foot, and toes and increase circulation.
Active Isolated Stretching: "The Mattes Method" centers on physiological principles of specific muscle lengthening, increased circulation and oxygen to the tissues, lengthening of the superficial and deep fascia. When applied to the leg and foot, AIS rebalances the leg from the hips to the toes and makes the tissues healthier and ready for strengthening.
The Aaron Mattes Method of strength training is highly specific. While it is holistic and treats the body as a unit, its primary characteristic is its capability to break down the body to treat isolated parts. There are protocols for every primary muscle of the body. When applied
specifically to the legs and feet, the Mattes Method of strength training can help identify and resolve functional deficiencies and eliminate pain. The result is increased muscle strength, joint
flexibility and balance across the joints of the leg, foot and toes.
